Here's some shots of the latest project of mine. I wanted to build as much as possible from survival mode to make it really 'feel' like my own, rather than just hop on creative. That way I get to play the game a little bit as well.
The map I wanted to generate is largely Taiga islands. There is very little connectivity between them, and I made the terrain a bit more rough than usual to accomodate for my high building preferences. The things I set myself up with were tree saplings, a carrot, and a potato. Over time I introduced horses and a few sheep, cows, and wolves since the map was devoid of animal life. (I just like having a dog for company) I also quickly hashed up a village nearby, in case I wanted to go and trade if I came across any emeralds. So far, nothing. Just copious amounts of iron, the way I have the minerals set up.
There are no caves, I had to mine everything down. to where I'm currectly at. I had to introduce lava since I disabled it, oops there, so I could get to the nether for the few lamps I do have. I also added some moss bricks to the sides, but that's about it. It gets boring with only stone.
I still need to decorate and really make it feel like home so I can get to expanding, but on survival mode this takes forever. I've died a few times... The longest part of this build was the roof, painstakingly time consuming piece by piece, not to mention the lack of adequate fall protection.
Hope you all enjoy!
