In the early 1960's NASA built the launch pads and assembly buildings capable of putting man on the moon. Kennedy Space center has launched over 150 successful rockets from pads 39A and 39B. At the heart of this operation is the Vehicle Assembly Building. The VAB is one of the largest buildings by size in the world, and was responsible for assembling the Saturn V and Space Shuttles.
