This was actually a commission some time ago from a friend's friend. He had fallen in love with a manor in his home town, but didn't know how to make the details so it would look like it.
Our mutual friend directed him to me, and as a result and per his specifications, I built the shelf and the shell for him; his only requirements were that the walls were at least two blocks thick and that there be an enclosed staircase separating the floors in half.
I charged him 20 USD for it. But he was pleased with both the price and with the result, so all in all, it was fun.
