Level 20 : Expert Architect

This is my Destiny WIP. I've been working on this since Minecraft Alpha 0.30. It was done 100% by hand (with some pencil and paper for the math to get the scale proportioned right before building). Progress is stalled right now but I'll be starting work again soon. It's about 1:5 scale (and still freaking HUGE).

The exterior is mostly complete, but the underside hasn't been touched for the most part.

The interior of the ship is about 90% hollow right now.

I may recruit a build team in the future. For now, this is to see if there is any interest in the project and to show the progress so far.

Things have been busy and I haven't been able to do anything with this project lately. It's not dead, just temporarily postponed.

Side note, I'm thinking about making a HD texture pack, specifically Destiny style. I'm thinking about all the buttons, control panels, and other steampunk design elements for the ship. (For those of you who didn't know, the set designers for SGU were big fans of the steampunk theme, which is why you have all the gears and buttons and stuff in the background, in the walls, etc.)

There has been some discussion on how large Destiny actually is. Some have gone as far as to figure out how tall Robert Carlisle is, compare it to a shot of him in the shuttle, figure the dimensions of the shuttle, compare it to the show from multiple angles, etc. Tons of math involved. The problem is that the CG animators were ... artistic in their representations of Destiny. In some ways, it seems larger than Atlantis. In others, it seems only about the size of something like the Daedalus. No one can really know for sure. It seems that someone related to the show said it would be about the size of 5 Nimitz-class aircraft carriers. But the best guess right now is about 1000 meters long. Thoughts?
