Map:

The box is placed by the dispenser (via button), comparator detects box, redstone line activates piston pushing hopper under box- hopper line moves items to a barrel, Box is empty, redstone line de-activates, an observer on a piston detects that (on a piston so it only detects the de-activation) which sends a delayed pulse to a piston(delayed so the hopper on the piston doesn't pick the shulker up) which breaks the box, which falls into a hopper below and goes into a separate barrel.
