1 - You spawn in creative mode in a hallway somewhere with an inventory full of stuff.
2 - There's no such thing as a "recourse pack". I suggest using a "resource pack" instead. (spelling gaff)
3 - It's extremely easy to escape the map boundaries after the car crash. I'm assuming this was unintentional since I got into a bunch of redstone and TNT. To escape the map, just jump from the slabs at the side of the road onto the cobblestone walls and climb them like a staircase up over the end of the road. (I did this because I couldn't figure out where else to go.
4 - A lot of the directions like turning off rain assume the player is using Optifine. If you want to have rain off, just use /weather clear 999999 to keep it off. If need be, set a command block to do this at certain points in the map.
I hope that helps. Please let me know when you've repaired the map. Right now it seems unplayable, but the trailer makes it look decent.
