USS Alaska- Large Cruiser (Created by LemonGem3021668) 

The Alaska class cruisers where designed to hunt down cruisers and defeat the German "Pocket Battleships" along with the rumored Japanese battlecruisers under construction. Although commonly refered to as Battlecruisers, they where classified as "Large Cruisers". Carring the most expensive guns produced during the war by the allies, the 12/50 guns where capable of defeating cruisers at ranges of 30 miles or more. Unfortunatley the Alaskas entered service to late to live up to their true potential and were found screening carriers and providing shore bombardment in the last days of the war. They where scrapped at the end of the war. This model reperesents the Alaska as built, before the addtional 20mm guns.
