USS Long Beach was a nuclear powered guided missile cruiser built for the US Navy, commissioned in 1961.
the distinctive bridge on Long Beach was due to the need for large flat areas to mount her state of the art radar system., as such she had the second tallest bridge of any US Navy surface combatant apart from the aircraft carriers.
Long Beach would be decommissioned in 1995, and scrapped. However a 423 foot section of her hull remains at Puget Sound.
This is a 1:1 scale recreation.
