Of all terraforming projects, a worldtree might be the hardest to create.
Getting natural shapes is hard!
In the previous version I made, i used a ball brush to build the tree, with only size 3 this took a very long time.
Later I smoothened and filled the roots to get a natural look to it. This wasn´t too bad, however the balls were worthless for the foiliage.
I chopped the whole structure in half and started from the trunk. I used the lift tool instead, and did a little more work on the roots.
Now for the leaves I chose the ball brush again, but with the addition of splatter, which created a far more natural spreading of the leaves. with a seed and growth percentage of 20%
The branches were done with the lift tool instead of the ball tool.
The tree is set inside a giant crater, filled with a jungle , which seemed to be the best location for a giant tree.
A river with a waterfall, that drops down into the crater, runs from the big cities to the crater.
This is part of the SF adventure map.
