This is a full-sized working recreation of the text-based adventure game Zork. See if you can find all of the treasures and conquer the Great Underground Empire.
My dad ( Sumner Redstone ) and I ( opDavi1) spent about two summers making this map. It's hard to believe that it's been 7 years already. The map may have its quirks but the entire game is functional and is extremely accurate to the original text-based version. If you manage to beat the game there is a *small* surprise at the end as a little bonus and thank you for beating Zork 1. Just a warning, you're in for your fair share of sign reading in this one. The tutorial area especially. If you can make it through the tutorial from the spawn area, then you made it through the bulk of the reading and in most rooms in the actual game there aren't nearly as many signs.
This map is accurate to the text based version! Feel free to play along with the original text based game and see how they line up! If you get stuck, there probably aren't videos on this specific map, but you can probably get some help from videos about the original game, if you can stand to read a little.
This map uses a dam from Aegir's Landing by Guruth. The map can be found here.

Thank you!! Downloading it now.
If you enjoyed making something like this, maybe you could try recreating more text adventures into minecraft, such as 'Cave Adventure' or 'Dreamhold'? I honestly think this could be a next-big-leap in Minecraft Adventure Map creation!

Another person named "Shwa" started his version of the map: http://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding/maps/1465544-adv-zork-craft-1-0-release I didn't borrow anything from here, but it's totally worth mentioning!
To those who have already downloaded it, thanks! And sorry for the inconvenience, lol!
