i may have gone a bit overboard with the symbolism, oops.. here's the explanations anyway:

the light side represents life & souls that go to heaven

lotus flower ; flower of life, purity and rebirth
white butterfly (next to the lotus) ; sign of a spirit, a soul transitioning from death to the afterlife
apple headband ; doesn't exactly have a meaning but u get it, adam and eve or whatever (also i took inspiration from lots of death-related characters when making this and ryuk was one of them so yk i had to include an apple somehow)

the dark side represents death & souls that go to hell

spider lilies (flower in her hair + shape of the skirt) ; flower of death, sad memories of a loved one
tombstone shoe with a white carnation ; white carnations by a grave shows respect and honor for a loved one that passed away
bandages, burnt arm ; honestly idk, i was trying to represent a few different ways of dying like burning, sui/heavy injuries etc. but it would've gotten pretty clustered if i added more so i just stuck with those two :3

i also made her hair feathery and added wings (on her back and heels) to represent the whole angel thing :D (honestly no idea why i only gave her one wing, i think i saw a reference like that and thought it looked cool LOL) i don't really know how i feel about it but i usually suck at making wings so it atleast turned out better than expected woo <3
