To be honest I have never seen this character before so I couldn't do an honest interpretation. personally though, I prefer it without the shading. I gained permission to edit it from the original designer so I just put my own take on it and it's not like you haven't asked anybody else so... problem?

Ah now you put the credit in earlier it had no credit making it just look like a waste of space. But now you have gained my respect again with your counter arguement. With that being said I take back what I said.
