Edgar used to be like any of the other townsfolk, eeking out a living in a small cabin at the edge of the woods. He would go into the forest each day and search for the best and most rare trees to fell and groom for sale in the nearby town market. Eventually, Edgar had to venture deeper and deeper into the heart of the woods in order to find his prised logs. The age of the forest where Edgar found himself one day was beyond knowing... There was a presence, a spirit in this part of the woods. Rather than shy away, Edgar decided to investigate even further into it's depths. Then, from seemingly everywhere, he heard a voice say, "You and your kind have done enough... You have laid waste to the bounty and life that is this forest! It is time we stood our ground... It is time, we used you!" All at once roots prung up from the ground taking hold of him; vines began to restrain and manipulate him; unearthly spores and seeds were cast into the air about him, taking root in his very flesh! There was no escape... slowly he felt his conciousness waining as his body succumbed to the will and life of the forest. "This is the end for me...", he thought aloud as his mind became blank and darkness filled his eyes. Yet he awoke, seemingly in the next instant, he was free from all the bindings and agony of before, but he was not himself. He was now a pawn of the forest, at the mercy of the ancient spirit dwelling there. One moment his mind was his, yet the next he was somewhere else, bloodied and maimed trespassers littering the forrest floor with their lifeless corpses. He was now a wandering spirit; never to rest; never to show mercy...!
