In amongst the desperate survivors of the apocalypse stands Joel. Joel is an old, hardened survivor traumatised by the loss of his daughter 20 years ago. Joel was well known amongst the survivors for being able to smuggle things in and out of the safe zones without being noticed. But when Joel is given the job of smuggling a young girl named Ellie across ruined America, Joel is pushed to his limits to keep Ellie safe.
