Commision I made 6 or so months ago for Craftological.
We never agreed on the uploading of the skin, but he doesn't wears this final version I made—he wears a variant of the multiple I made him— so I decided to upload it.
Enjoy c:

But, answering your questions: What is it supposed to be? A type of steampunk Knight—Steampunk from the fact that it is more random, has more background, more detail.
The most resemblance I found with my creation was exactly what the title says: Magitek. I named it like that for those people who can't put the pieces on their head. Magitek is from Final Fantasy VI, and it was Humans on armor which enabled them to be able to use magic.
So, there you go. The skin is as literal as it gets: a damn human. What else does it have to be.
If you want more background on the elaboration of the skin to consolidate something else, here is a tutorial I made showcasing the creation of this skin and all the changes it underwent to become like it is: http://www.planetminecraft.com/blog/skin-progress-magitek/
sorry, didn't mean to come off so harshly, I guess? I just really don't know what it's supposed to be, because the colors are (while nice) all over the place, nothing really matches up, and the only thing I can make out is the cannon arm.
The colors are "all over the place" because that is how it is. Light is not homogeneous, and as you can see, the light is coming from the left direction, hence the left shoulder is lighter while the right shoulder is darker. So, yes, indeed, the armor is magenta, but the shadow being cast from the direction it is coming from will create a shadow. And this is just justifying the armor shading, but the whole skin follows the same pattern.
Your work ethic is completely different from mine. But in reality, it is true, I do not focus on my designs because I focus on the visual work. But it is not compromising the design, simply with visual like those, from our eyes or a picture, detail will be lost. Just like on lowlight photos and our eyes can barely perceive detail, like on bright sunlight, it is hard to look, and so it also consumes the bodies. So, once again, with this other explanation, the colors are not all over the place.
Not that that is part of your predicament, but I thought you'd like to know.
I do not get your predicament. What is there to match up with anything? You say nothing matches up, but to what? What else is it supposed to be? It's a dude with a mask, with a hair undercut, with an armor suit and cannon as right hand. Nobody ever started wearing jeans, t-shirt and a beanie from day to night. From something basic as that, it took time to settle. But that's just an analogy from how there is no certain way a knight or anything is.
You are apologizing for the wrong things, by the way. Nothing to apologize, never at all mentioned my feelings being like that.
