Replaced all of the black on the skin with dark green, and made the skin look more like the actually Mario from Super Mario Land.

I just now realized this doesn't use the correct palette. I won't disqualify it until the entry period is over so you have a chance to fix it. Just download someone else's skin and change the colors to the ones on the other skin and the problem will be solved. Thank you :)
