The Special Weapons Group is an elite unit of the Imperial Navy. Made up of two Starfighter battalions and 4 Infantry battalions. The Pilots undertake a rigorous 17 week training course design to weed out the weak from the strong. Once they pass they are given the Special Weapons Group helmet which is a better updated version of the standard TIE fighter helmet available with red paint indicating they are part of special forces.
