The young boy coughed, spitting blood out onto his lap. He had been nailed to a tree in the orchard, beaten by everyone who knew him and others who didn't. All for a crime he didn't commit. He was to die here, with the smell of rotting plums and the chilling breeze. As the light began to fade from his eyes, a stranger came to him.
"Will you accept my gift?" asked the stranger.
"What is your gift?" muttered the boy, barely managing the words.
"Will you accept my gift?" asked the stranger again. "You can be saved."
"Yes," whispered the boy. It could have been his dying breath.
"Drink." The stranger cut open his leg and pressed it to the boy's mouth. Almost dead, the boy drank and drank, feeling suddenly alive, his rage beginning to overwhelm him. The stranger's blood was of purest evil.
Here is my skin of the "stranger in the orchard." It is inspired from the Escape From Furnace series.
