This is a traveler from a far off village that has journied to see the great Pharaoh and is unlucky enough to be bitten by an asp.The asp that bites him isn't a normal asp it has the soul of the great Pharaoh from the after life. When bitten by the asp the Pharaoh takes over the travelers body and it starts to change into a ruff scalely snake like figure. Since there are alot of snakes within the desert he can handle the harsh cold nights and the very hot day light time. Once the Pharaoh has fully taken over the traveler the pharaohs reborn.
