This is an iromuji kimono (one color kimono) I made for august (https://aminoapps.com/c/japan/page/blog/kimono-colors/MXsk_u4L2g88Np8w1jMeNqbjpDr1g). A similar color combination for this same season is called 'natsumushiiro' but I don't know if they are one and the same. Iromuji are used for example for tea ceremonies when using something extravagant would draw the attention away from the ceremony. I also kept to a very simple style with her hair with just one hairpin.

As I've aimed for a summer month she isn't wearing any socks and has simple wooden geta (with red hanao). I don't actually know if socks are supposed to be worn with all other kimono except yukata but I wanted to experiment. As the kimono is an iromuji it does not have any motif but the obi features ocean waves (nami). The obi is wrapped in otaiko musubi (drum knot).

Kimonos are a hobby of mine and I try to get the details right (as well as I know). I've added little dots on the kimono as while iromuji cannot have a real motif, they sometimes have a pattern made by the weave. The collar is folded with the left side overlapping the right, which is important when wearing kimono. I've also added a faint line on the kimono under the obi to indicate the ohashori fold. (The ohashori is where the kimono is folded upwards under the obi to make it the correct length all in all.)
