Commission from BSVO
I catfish as a girl, but this is a guy skin. what do I even mean?—Laziness, I mean, tbh. Nah, I'm kidding, partially. This isn't my persona I am uploading today, but the persona of my client. I thought it would be interesting to describe someone else
rather than myself—I do that too much already.
I know the design is generic, I was asked by BSVO to make this simple elf design he did onto something simple (as he intended) but awesome simultaneously. The design was done by BSVO, I give credit to this guy. Regardless of that and my sassiness, I think the skin is original in other ways, so I think it fits the contest lol. Plus, we all know we at least wore an elf or RPG character skin and role-played.
I think personas are simply role-playing. Can be based entirely of your life, or not, it's simply the embodiment of art. Probably why people don't realize that we weren't born to be human, we were born to be art, because Society was our creator 8)
But regardless of philosophy, just getting more serious to set in the mood.
So, onward with what this skin is and other questions the requirements ask:
I already gave hints, but it is an elf. Who is it?— My friend. How does it relate?— That's a question obviously already answered, but I'll dive in to not seem so mediocre:
When I was working with my client, or any person I am working creatively, I just have to get to know them. And from personal experience and from what he told me, that we can feel like misfits when we do not represent the image we see throughout our eyes. You can call it jealousy, I call it loneliness. But from the simple action of wanting to fit in, from that one thought we already started devising a persona. So there you go what the concepts are.
Yes, he has cute cheeks. and yes, I know, eyes bright. so bright.

You can check my other skins, without any support as well.
If you've read the long paragraphs below, you can see why it was only a participant as well, this skin.
However, I wouldn't call this site the most tasteful, nor creative community. Surely there are the boisterous and talented few, but there is still the silent majority of younger members, or inactive members, that are the final determinant in which skins make it to finals. If a skin doesn't stand out in their eyes, no matter how much (or how little) they know about shading, they aren't going to support the skin as fervently.
A contest judge once told me that, as a judge, you already have an idea of what the final ranking should be, and the points system follows that design. Not the other way around. I believe the same is true of the public, they see a bright, popular, flashy skin that everyone else loves, and they are instantly convinced that skin should win. This minuscule victory, over but one individual, when in effect over a large group of people, creates a certain community prediction of the final ranking. Following this prediction, the many will outvote the few, and good skins are left behind.
Enough of that though. On to my opinion.
Hot damn I like the colors. I believe the use of blue in the shadows of the white parts of the shirt, and the overall red of the tunic are my favorite. The compliments fit very nicely, and draw the eye from the center of the skin along each extremity. However, I would have used a little more blue on the white portions of the legs as well, to give the top and the bottom an added element of unity. I believe the nicest shading on the skin is on the arms and the back of the head. I really love the anti-aliasing under the hood. The shading on the ruffles of the tunic is also excellent. The only gripe I have with the shading, is I feel the wrinkle in the back of the tunic, where the extra cloth it gathers, is a little bit to contrasted, perhaps make the shades near the top a bit more homogeneous, to add a softer curve befitting of the material. The brightness of the eyes seemed a little dismal at first, but it's definitely grown on me 0.0
I'm pretty bummed this skin didn't do all that well. I blame the simple design, and a silent majority. Awesome job though
Thanks for the feedback. You missed a few points: I make the hottest guy skins; the leggings have the whole spectrum of colors; the face was designed to have a face structure (the only one with a similar face structure like that that comes to mind is Joe Dempsie).
Oh, and, even though its "not" Link, I did give a few hints (the tags of the skin) that it was Link. It was disappointing to see that nobody deciphered the magnitude of this skin
DOe, really, I'm just a hypocrite. I put on the tags "link" lol just sayin' really like the extra views and downloads with those tags
