My persona, Avoidance, new and improved for eggpuff's Heart on Your Sleeve skin contest.
The feeling of avoidance is strong with me. I've always hated social interactions, never participated in a single extracurricular activity, felt like a stand in for other people's friends, always fear rejection and disappointment, and would much rather spend time alone being creative. It's a prime characteristic of an introvert.
So, I've been planning on updating my persona for a while, but this finally gave me my push. As part of the contest, I'll explain the emotion behind the skin.
The first and most obvious characteristic of the skin is the hood. It, along with the hair, completely cover the character's eyes and most of their face. This is mostly to avoid eye contact. The hoodie itself is already too big so that it covers up most of the character's limbs, mostly due to low self-esteem and to avoid being judged from their skinny limbs. They believe their body to be unattractive, even if they are told otherwise.
The skin is mostly purple with a hint of blue, representing fear. Purple and blue also represent sadness and darkness, indicating something is emotionally painful underneath that hoodie that hides everything.
The baggy hoodie, long hair, and fuzzy socks indicate a lack of self care due to not appearing before many people. It shows that this character prefers to be comfortable when alone.
Here's a picture with the old and new skins side by side. I've also got the eyes gazing to the side to indicate recognition but without direct eye contact.
