Xotalanc was one of the two leaders of the Tlazitlans when they came to live in Xuchotl. He was the original husband of Tascela and the brother of Techultli. A bloody war broke out between the two brothers and their armies after Tascela left Xotalanc, preferring to be with Techultli. After the deaths of the two brothers, their descendants continued to clash, perpetuating the bloody feud and reducing the population of Tlazitlans to a small number.
