The textures in 1.16 have different item names
You can put the texture yourself.

Open the %appdata% file, select Minecraft
Go to the Version folder.
Select the folder with the number of the version you will be playing
(You will probably find the Jar file. This is the default/vanilla texture file)
Extract this file with Winrar
Go assets/minecraft/textures/items...

After this extract the Alternative sword zip file in another window
Open the extracted folder
Go assets/minecraft/textures/items

See if the resource pack item´s names you want to modify corresponds with the vanilla names.

If they dont correspond, rename the resource pack´s names to the vanilla names.
After that go to the alternative sword´s zip file and substitute items folder with the one you edited.
Put the alternative sword´s zip file on the resource pack´s folder and you have all the textures,
