I tried on 1.16 and the textures worked is the problem the candle not showing? if it is candles are only for 1.17 and you right click to place them on the cake, if you could describe what the texture problem is it would be helpfull

alright, I'll try to describe it. The texture in the inventory and stuff looks like the cherries are dotted around but in your pictures, the cherries are in like a circle. The block texture also looks a little different.
