Introduction
This is a blog about a sort of role play/ story scenario based on the concept established by CC. Most of you don't know what that is, and that's fine. CC is a game that I was a part of, being built in Minecraft. The premise was a war between a variety of science fiction alien civilizations, in the form of a turn-based strategy. Recently, this concept has been revived in a new format. Instead of war, the CC group and I will be peacefully interacting, sharing knowledge and culture in a deeper and more complex scenario. This blog will tell my side of the story, as well as present information as it is learned by the other factions. For those of you reading who aren't members of CC, this might be confusing, but you don't need to follow. If you do, everything will become clearer in time, and there will be more information as I update my lore and biology blogs.
Check out the Roccho Faction's lore here.

Culture
Aeneans are wary of ETs due to bad experiences. They are the descendants of a Roman colony ship that left Earth after it was devastated by aliens retaliating to ITS hostilities, and while that was two hundred years prior to the Aeneans of today, they still remember it. Their gen ship was catapulted to the Triangulum Galaxy by a space time fissure on the 100th anniversary of Operation Free Will, and they landed on Aenea after ten additional years in space, so they have a very species-centric and survivalist attitude. That said, they are still trustworthy if they believe they will not be betrayed, and are fierce allies.
Their overall culture can be described as pseudo-Roman. When they first ended up in the new galaxy, and especially on their new world, there was an attempt to preserve their way of life. This morphed into an extreme movement that became obsessed with cultural revivalism of the old Roman Republic, although resistance eventually led through a civil war and internal strife to a synthesis of a culture heavily based on ancient Roman society with many new elements shaped by the new diversity of the modern Roman Empire, the empire vs Republic debate, isolation from all humans, and the need to survive all on their own. They heavily value honor and loyalty, which is why any allies they make are guaranteed a friend for life, while those who might break their trust are considered the worst kind of enemy. However, their trust must be earned first, as their survivalist nature, history with extraterrestrials, and wariness of instability overrides any overly welcoming desires. They have a nearly religious obsession with Earth, and an almost unanimous cultural goal is to make contact with and return to their home. Other humans are the only "extraterrestrials" they will embrace without thought due to their isolation, although this also has an effect on their potential relationship with aliens. Humanoid aliens will receive a slightly warmer welcome than non-humanoid.

Arx, “refuge” in Latin, is the oldest occupied star system in the Aenean Republic, and home of the capital planet of the civilization. After ten years lost in the Triangulum Galaxy, the Roman colony ship IRS Virgil discovered an Earth-like planet in orbit of a G2V type star very similar to the Sun. Upon arrival, they found a solar system well suited for supporting life, including an Earth-sized world with plenty of water and a breathable atmosphere. The colonists named their world “Aenea” in honor of the main character of the classic Roman myth of the Aeneid, written by the namesake of their ship. Over the course of fifty years, a new civilization gradually grew throughout the solar system. Their first colony, the moon of their new homeworld, quickly grew to a terraforming project and then a fully terraformed satellite and popular vacation spot. The moon’s namesake, Achates, was Aeneas’s most loyal comrade. Farther out, the moon of Remus is helium-3 rich and serves many mining stations. While Primus is a barren world close to Arx, Secundus is far enough away and mineral rich enough to support several large mining operations. An asteroid belt between Aenea and Maximus is another major source of resources. Maximus’s numerous satellites host small Aenean facilities, but the biggest human operation is a network of large hydrogen refineries in the upper atmosphere.
There are three main space stations in the system, including the large civilian space port of Portus Caelestia, Naval Station Aenea 1, and Navalia Prima, the largest shipyard in the republic. While Portus Caelestia and NAVAEN 1 orbit Aenea, Navalia Prima orbits Arx in the asteroid belt, close to major mineral refineries. It is the primary source of military and large commercial starship construction for the Republic. On Aenea itself are the primary headquarters of government, military, and most industry, as well as the most distinguished military academies. While each system has its own academies, Aenea’s are known as the most prestigious and competitive. In Aenean space, Arx rests at the center, with a circle with a radius of twenty light years extending out from it and split into four quadrants. The three other major systems sit in their own quadrants, with the fourth encompassing Arx.

The Iocasta system is a red giant with a mineral-rich ring, and has many mining, refinery, and shipbuilding stations throughout it, with a major naval base on the outer edge. A sole planet, Iocasta 1, has a temperate climate but an inhospitable atmosphere, so colonization is limited. Most of the inhabitants of Iocasta are workers in the countless space stations or at the large military base. While Aenea can boast the single largest shipyard station in the Republic, Iocasta's numerous yards produce nearly twice the output per year. Iocasta is unusually close to Arx, only 0.7 light years away, so it is considered the final location to fall before the homeworld is considered threatened. It was also the first colony to be developed, with early exploration ships arriving in 2142 Aenean Time. Due to the dynamic environment inside the ring, it also serves as a primary testing ground for new weapons and ships, even gaining it a reputation not unlike Area 51 for the level of security random sections of the system can suddenly have.

The Spero, or "Hope," system consists of a G2V type star with two small rocky worlds and a colossal gas giant, around which three habitable moons and a fourth rocky satellite orbit. New Gallia, a water and ice world, is a water and fuel depot, with orbital platforms dedicated to refueling interstellar ships as they go out further into the galaxy. Prospectus is a mineral rich moon with an oxygen atmosphere that serves as their trading hub. Cassia is another oxygen atmosphere moon that is one of the most densely populated colonies, and serves as their cultural embassy. Umbra is a small rocky moon and serves as the military forward operating base for the region. Due to the large population, status as the farthest colony from Aenea at 7 ly, and numerous resources, the Spero system is one of the most heavily guarded and monitored in Aenea, with two entire Carrier Battle Groups based out of NAVSPE 2 and NAVSPE 3, respectively.

2.4 light years from Arx, the binary star system of Hadria is home to one of the most controversial colonies. There is a large civilian colony and research facility on the second rocky planet from the suns, also known as Hadria. The planet is the hub of a constellation of scientific satellites studying the system, in addition to the main population centers. Mining operations work on both Iacenia and the atmosphere of Edaena, but most civilians live on Hadria itself. Five military bases, Naval Station Hadria 1-5, orbit at the 5 Lagrange points between Hadria and the binary stars, ensuring near constant position for each station. NAVHAD 3, consequently, is always directly opposite the suns from its planet, contributing to a sense of isolation. Hadria is on par with Cassia in terms of population density, but being a proper planet rather than a moon, it is the second most populated non-satellite in the Republic. This is not lost on its inhabitants, who enjoy a rather large amount of autonomy. From unfortunate coincidence, Hadria found itself at the center of a revolution after peacefully assisting the alien ships Providence and Najlakesa. The predominately xenophobic government attempted to seize control, and now Hadria is considered a rogue system.

Naval Forces
This tab documents the various major or significant naval groups in the CD RP belonging to the Aenean Republic.
Carrier Strike Group 6 | Second Fleet, HADNAVCOM |
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy, Hadrian Defense Force |
Stationed in: | Hadria system |
Commander: | Captain Sextus Tarquinius |
Composed of: | 10 ships |
2 fast combat support ships | Tigris Mons, Trajan Mons |
4 destroyers | Tempesta, Barria, Morgana, Tellus |
2 cruisers | Augustus, Constantus |
1 battleship | Aquila |
1 battlestar | Saturnium |
Carrier Strike Group 6 is one of three strike groups assigned to the Hadria System, and one of twelve in the entire Aenean Navy. They are primarily based at Naval Station Hadria 3 due to its ideal location for long range system patrol and easy FTL transit without the risk of hitting any planets. The strike group is accompanied by DESRON 12, composed of six destroyers and six frigates including the destroyers Lupus and Hestia and frigates Agrippa and Tiberion, as well as three laser destroyers. Due to its presence in Hadria and peaceful interaction with aliens, CSG-6 and other system squadrons were branded as traitors to Aenea and stripped of their commissions. Until some sort of solution emerged for the schism between Hadria and the rest of the republic, these ships were part of the Hadrian Defense Forces. Following the end of tensions, all Hadrian ships were peacefully recommissioned and their crews resumed service in the Aenean Navy. CSG 6 maintains security around NAVHAD 3 until the passing of a Conglomerate threat will allow them to resume normal operations schedules.
Carrier Strike Group 9 | Second Fleet, HADNAVCOM |
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy |
Stationed in: | Hadria system |
Commander: | Captain Martin Olivarius |
Composed of: | 10 ships |
2 fast combat support ships | Lapis Mons, Everesta |
4 destroyers | Gladius, Appella, Coriana, Renarum |
2 cruisers | Titian, Vespasian |
1 battleship | Valkyria |
1 battlestar | Venusia |
Carrier Strike Group 9 is the second of three groups assigned to the Hadria system. During the Hadrian incident, CSG-9 was patrolling the outer edges of Quadrant 2. Despite being home-ported in Hadria, the fleet was immediately rotated back to the planet Aenea with orders to stand down until further notice. Their commander, Captain Martin Olivarius, is a cautious man who, despite being born on Hadria, stands behind Aenea during the current crisis. The Navy had no plans to reactivate CSG-9 right now, but based it off of depending on how the Hadrian situation developed. Following the end of the crisis, CSG 9 resumed its patrol before rendezvousing with Carrier Battle Group 3 and returning to Hadria. The group currently is augmenting CBG 3's role in Kuiper belt defense in the event Conglomerate forces attempt to attack the system.
Carrier Strike Group 12 | Second Fleet, HADNAVCOM |
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy |
Stationed in: | Hadria system |
Commander: | Captain Septimus Paratun |
Composed of: | 10 ships |
2 fast combat support ships | Hellas Mons, Alpinus Mons |
4 destroyers | Aegis, Clypaeus, Tragulia, Tela |
2 cruisers | Vitellius, Commodus |
1 battleship | Sirenia |
1 battlestar | Arias |
Carrier Strike Group 12 is the third strike group assigned to the Hadria system. During the Hadrian incident, CSG-12 was participating in the 49th annual Fleet Exercise Winter Strength in the Spero system, home of the lunar colonies of New Gallia, Umbra, Prospectus, and Cassia. Crewed largely of Hadrian natives, CSG-12 was transferred to the military moon of Umbra with orders to remain in the system and off their ships. The commanding officer, Septimus Paratun, is good friends with Captains Tarquinius and Caenarian, so Aenea does not want to take any chances with the group. Following the defusing of tensions after the Vitale conference, CSG 12 was the first to return to the system, and now performs outer system security in the wake of a Conglomerate attack.
Carrier Battle Group 5 | Second QUADCOM
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy
Stationed in: | Aenea system
Commander: | Captain Gnaeus Seperens
Composed of: | 18 ships | |
1 battlestar | Neptunia | |
1 battleship | Titanus | |
5 cruisers | Pertinax, Severus, Nero, Nerva, Decius
9 destroyers | Pugio, Spatha, Hasta, Sagitarria, Lorica, Parata, Gerana, Opulo, Regia
1 laser destroyer | Fenix
1 fast combat support ship | Vitallus Mons |
Carrier Battle Group 5 is one of five such groups operating in the Aenean Republic. Unlike a Carrier Strike Group, a Carrier Battle Group has additional combatants to better engage in ship to ship combat. They serve as quick reaction forces, not necessarily bound to specific patrol routes like CSGs. Battle Group 5 was ordered to head to the rebellious Hadria system to put down any potential uprisings and acquire alien technology. Their sense of timing was impeccable, and in an attempt to thoroughly destroy the perceived threat of the Oneirodynia and her champion, the Crimson, CBG-5 ended up in an engagement that would eventually claim all ships but five destroyers and the laser destroyer Fenix. The survivors of CBG-5 are in custody aboard NAVHAD 4 and NAVHAD 5, with the ships transferred from NAVHAD 3 to NAVHAD 1.
Second Fleet | Second QUADCOM |
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy |
Stationed in: | AO: Quadrant 2, HQ: Aenea |
Commander: | Vice Admiral Mettius Belgranus |
Composed of: | |
Fleet Forces Hadria | Rear Admiral Marcus Lautius |
Carrier Strike Group 6 | Captain Sextus Tarquinius |
Carrier Strike Group 9 | Captain Martin Olivarius |
Carrier Strike Group 12 | Captain Septimus Paratun |
Destroyer Squadron 12 | Captain Manius Caelestius |
Destroyer Squadron 19 | Captain Statius Damian |
Cruiser Destroyer Squadron 7 | Captain Aurelia Metellus |
Fleet Logistics Squadron 2 | Captain Adamus Isatis |
The Second Fleet is the naval component of the Aenean Defense Force’s presence in the Second Quadrant of Aenean space, including the major colony of Hadria as well as numerous smaller mining and research colonies throughout occupied systems. The Second Fleet includes Fleet Forces Hadria, the command responsible for all military stations in the Hadria system as well as any ships home-ported there, although all ships also answer to Second Fleet. Primary firepower is given by Carrier Strike Groups 6, 9, and 12, which rotate between patrol, training/overhauls, and rest out of Hadria. Augmenting the groups are Destroyer Squadrons 12 and 19 and CRUDESRON 7, all permanently stationed in Hadria and only conducting operations in the system and occasionally the rest of the quadrant when a CSG is not needed to respond to a crisis. DESRON 19 especially sorties frequently in an antipiracy capacity, as Quadrant II’s relatively high density of systems is a breeding ground for pirates and other criminals seeking secrecy. Fleet Logistics Squadron 2 is based out of Hadria, and handles all resupply for the CSGs when deployed.
Carrier Battle Group 3 | First QUADCOM
Affiliation: | Aenean Navy
Stationed in: | Aenea system
Commander: | Captain Annia Lactantia
Composed of: | 18 ships | |
1 battlestar | Uranum | |
1 battleship | Vittoria | |
5 cruisers | Hadrian, Vorenius, Proculus, Paullus, Barbatius
9 destroyers | Motivo, Velocita, Genera, Ventus, Supersa, Sagitta, Intrepidus, Ferox, Imperatrix
1 laser destroyer | Fuoco
1 fast combat support ship | Treana Mons |
Carrier Battle Group 3 is one of four (formerly five) such groups operating in the Aenean Republic. Battle Group 3 was ordered to head to the Hadria system alongside the returning CSG 9 to assist in defense of the system following an attack by Conglomerate vessels on a Class II naval space station under construction in a frontier system. The ships docked at NAVHAD 1 for resupply before moving to the Kuiper belt to patrol and launch sensor drones.
