Prologue:
Hello everyone, it is I, PukedOutKiwi. If you are still following the Faction series, this is the third part of that series. Since school has started and all, I don't know if I will have the time to continue writing this series, but I will make sure it will not be finished prematurely. I shall dedicate myself to finishing this series, so you faction server players can gain some sort of footing/ideas for your serverwide domination. So, to the few of you still keeping eyes on this, I got you covered.

Step 1: Preparing Your Assets
By about now, you should be arming your members, amassing wealth/items, and getting ready to engage in a possibly server-changing maneuver (depending on what approach you are taking).

The Peaceful Approach:
Now that (hopefully) you have a group of willing, loyal, and powerful members, it's time to build the permanent base. For anyone who had their temp base raided, I recommend you keep building temp bases until now, as it is time to take the next step, and build a PERMANENT BASE. This base (or f home) must be much more secretive then any of your temporary f homes. There are a few preferable spots to build your base, now that it must be permanent:

The End Base:
The location for an end base is very smart for a permanent base. Trying to find end bases is near impossible without donor perks like /fly, or building a really long bridge to find end bases. Even if someone found your base, they would have to make a long bridge (depending on how far away the base is) all the way to your base. Also, end bases are like overworld land bases, except for the fact that they float like skybases. They can be hard to find, but can easily be customized with many intricate and useful defenses to stop potential raiders and griefers, all the while storing your worldly possessions.

The "Above-The-Nether" Base:
While a decent place to hide a base can be in the Nether, above the bedrock ceiling of the Nether is a superflat, almost never-ending bedrock landscape. Getting on this means you are "Above-The-Nether." Being above the nether is a great place to hide you bases, one being that many people don't know how to get above the nether, another reason being that skybases above the nether are almost invisible. Unless the user has Optifine, it's impossible to see a skybase, even at a 16-chunk render distance.

While you don't have to start building the base just yet, it is key that you start planning out a location. By now, you should have about 6-10 faction members. Around this amount of members is the time you should start considering your position base-wise.

The Aggressive Approach:
Now that you have a team of excellent (or at least above average) team of pvpers, it is time to start making your name on the server, not with your words, but with your actions. This is the time where you should get someone to your faction called a "negotiator" to help you with faction politics. The negotiator doesn't have to be good at pvp, but should have some type of ability with socializing/negotiating with others. You will need a negotiator, to soften problems you don't want with others, and to get information which is beneficial to your faction. If you already have a negotiator, great, as that is a problem which is pushed out of the way. You will also want to find a raid of some sort, preferably one of much value. As an aggressive faction, there are a few ways of finding bases.

1. A negotiator gaining a bases coords through speaking with another person.
2. Finding the base through exploration (f map is of use, but can lag your game).
3. Blackmail (Yes, negotiators can play a crucial part in this as well).

Note that these are only three ways of finding bases. There are many other ways of finding bases, and there are many different situations out there as well. Don't be afraid to use whatever method you have to, it's your faction, so you decide what is necessary.

Step 2. Plan Of Action
Once you have prepared everything that is necessary, it is time to put your plan into action.

The Peaceful Approach:
Once you have located an area for building your base, get to work. Build a base that is large, well protected, and fitted with many, many stations for all the people in your faction. A permanent base should have, but not limited to:

-A large farm, not just containing farms for food, but farms for non-food related products as well. Recommended farms for your permanent base should be a sugarcane farm, a netherwart farm, a potato farm, and a carrot farm. Other farms can be added if you want.
-A REALLY large vault/chest room. Should have up to 60-70 large chests worth of storage, and room for expansion if the need be.
-A brewery, with chests filled with potion ingredients, a 2x2 water source, and many brewing stands. You should have at least 9 brewing stands in your brewing room, but more can be added if need be.
-A smeltery, for smelting items. Each furnace in the smeltery should have at least 32-64 coal in it at all times. A smeltery can also come equipped with mcmmo anvils/normal anvils. Should have chests for temporary storage.
-An enchantment room, with 2 enchantment tables. One for level one enchantments (enchanting level 1 books to combine together to get Sharpness/Efficiency/Protection/Power IV or V), and another for level 30 enchantments. There should be chests next to the level one enchantment station, for storage of books.
-A mob xp farm, for farming of xp. Usually, faction servers allow the buying of mob spawners in the shop, so buy some spawners for easy xp, and items depending on the spawner.
-A prestigious, aesthetically pleasing, majestic lobby room for your members to spawn in. Should inspire some "ooh's" and "ahh's" upon first seeing the lobby room.
-An obsidian bunker, with a few large chests fitted with your best items.

These are the things that are required inside your base, but outside your base might be a bit different. The walls of your base should be made out of obsidian, and depending on the size of your base, needs at least one wall layer of obsidian, covered in water. Infront of that wall, should be more water-covered walls, and possibly regenerative walls. I'm not too keen on the perfections of base defense, but a well-off permanent f home should have at least 3-4 walls of defense.

The Aggressive Approach:
Hopefully, you have found a decent raid (or raids) of some sort. It's probably a decent raid if it is decently defended, and is owned by a decently sized faction. Before even bothering to tamper with the base defenses, you should get some common knowledge of cannons, so that raiding a base is actually possible. Find a way to enter your raids, raid the bases, and establish your reputation as a fearless faction across the server. Unfortunately, as a raider, you will have to build a hard-to-find/hard-to-raid base as well (see Peaceful Approach for base building tips).

Step 3. Rendezvous and Restock
Now that you have either raided a few bases, or built a base to stand the test of enemy factions, it's time to (once again) plan for your next battle. Find things you can improve to your already set standard.

The Peaceful Approach:
If you have already set up your base, add extra to your pre-existing work. For example, sort all the items in your vault, add random chests for people to put random items in for future sorting as well. You can also add collection areas for certain places, such as the farm or brewery. Add what you feel is right. A base can never be perfect, so no matter what, there is always room for improvement.

The Aggressive Approach:
You've done it! You've raided a base (or more then one, depending on how many bases you found). Right now, you should start building a permanent f home, that doesn't have to reflect beauty or neatness, but an efficient well protected f home that can act as a swift, hard-working war machine. If you have raided certain factions, you might find yourself enemied with some people who you didn't even know well/existed before. Or, you might find yourself with no lingering repercussions. Whatever the case, you have alot of work to do.

Ending Statement:
So, I hope these ideas/info I have you to improve your faction has hopefully proved of some worth, whether that be by actually using these ideas in Faction gameplay, or just enjoying a neat guide. Good luck to all who play, have a nice day.

Looks like the peaceful approach would be the best to start off with and then do the agressive approach. :)

Well, it's all up to opinion. Some people might go solely for peaceful, some might go solely for aggressive, and some might mix up both of them.

Yeah, I've always found that with the peaceful approach that you need at least a team of pvpers or a aggressive faction will try and capture you.
