Hello, everyone! This will be a various method blog in which I feel are some nice and easy ways to start up your own Minecraft server!

Do take note that some of these ways can be a bit of a hassle to deal with, but some are just easy as pie.

Method 1 - Use YAMS [Yet Another Minecraft Server]
YAMS is a free server creator that you would download on your computer, which will set up an administrator access from your computer only. It's perfect for assurance that you are the only one able to access the console. The only cons are that it takes up storage on your computer varying on how many servers you have or how big your server is. You can set how much RAM you want your server to use, but it also limits you since it uses your computers RAM to run the server. It portforwards for you as well, so you don't have to worry about that. Overall, it's a pretty nice program for beginners. Click here to get started.

Method 2 - Use Athernos.
Athernos is a free minecraft server hoster, hosting a server up to 1 GB of ram for a server of your choice. Note that your IP is whatever you name it, with the extension , .athernos.me. The only con I can see here is that if your server is idling, meaning that no one is on your server for a total of 5 minutes, your server will automatically be shut down. Also, there is a queue for when you start it, and that varies to how many people are wanting to start their servers at a time or not. No portforwarding required, as the server is hosted by them. Click here to get started.

Method 3 - Be classical!
Be classical! Use a vanilla server :). Note that this does require portforwarding, which can be difficult considering all routers have different roots of access and how they can be accessed. To protect yourself, you probably should use a IP masker, like No-IP.

a. After setting up an account, add a host. Set the hostname to anything of your choice, and the extension can be anything from their list. Make it simple and forward for people that will use it to join your server. The Host type MUST be DNS Host (A), do not change this. Your IP should be the external IP, which should already be set. There are no groups necessary to create a host. Once you create this host, wait a couple moments and you should be able to use it when you launch your server. This also works with YAMS.

------
With Athernos and YAMS, you can use any type of minecraft server you want. This includes bukkiet and spigot. Athernos has plugins pre-installed on their website which you can choose to put on your server. Please note that some of these don't work, and some require knowledge of java to work with. YAMS requires java as well but you can download plugins straight from bukkit or spigot and install them right into your servers folder on your computer.

Hope this helps those who need help starting up a server! :)
