Welcome to my blog on how to survive your first night in Minecraft. In this blog I am going to start from the very beginning menu, all the way up to advanced fighting technique. Enjoy!
When you first download the launcher for Minecraft and log in with your account, it will look like this:
(If you do not have the launcher yet, pick it up here.)
The top buttons allow you to switch between different modes, I prefer to stay in the Updates Tab. The bottom left buttons are a new feature in the Minecraft Launcher, it allows you to switch between different versions of the game. However, the one button we want to focus on is the big button that says "PLAY!"
After seeing a page with Mojang's logo on it, you will be taken to the Main Menu for Minecraft, which looks like this:
Don't worry about the flashing yellow thing, that is a splash, which pretty much tells us all the inside jokes Jeb and Notch made up over the years. The world magnifying glass at the bottom is for language selection (such as Pirate and Australian), and the the Options and Quit Game tab are for... you guessed it. For now, we are interested in single player. In the single player menu, choose "Create World." In this section you will have many options. Such as:
Create World Options
- Naming your World: for later reference.
- The Gamemode: keep it at survival for now, if you want to go hardcore, choose hardcore mode.
- Structure Generation: for cool stuff like villages, dungeons, and strongholds.
- Cheats: allows you to use commands.
- Bonus Chest: A bonus chest filled with starting items. I keep it on.
- World Type: Allows you to select which generation algorithm to use, keep it at Default or Large Biomes.
- Seed: Allows you to put in a precise generation code. Type in your name if you want.
