Before you make the best faction in the world, and start raiding, and taking down other factions, this tutorial may be a bit useful.

Some server have raiding allowed, while other's don't. My opinion would be raiding is allowed, while griefing is not. Raiding is taking the valuables, like diamonds, chests, etc. Griefing is like breaking every single block of the base, like if it was a small shitty dirt house, griefers would still take it down, raiding is like if there is a workbench or chest in the house you only break the chest or workbench, not taking down the whole house.

Part 1:Starting a new faction!

If you want a good faction make it have a good name, don't make it too classy, like Avengers,(I like the movie, but the name is too classy)Names like Rome, or IronEagle, or, idk, your choice, but regular with a capital letter to start off with is better looking, my opinion. Well let's start talking about the main idea. When making a faction, a friend to start you off with is always better than being alone, because if others try to kill you your friend would help you out 2 is always better than 1, I once had a friend to play with, we made a faction, and guess how we killed a diamond armor guy? One of us was claiming land, and delclaiming, so the diamond armor guy kept getting hit, and we couldn't get hit until he died. It was awesome. :D So after you get about 32 Wood each person, go ahead and take a trip across minecraftia. You should build a faction base AT LEAST 500 blocks from spawn, that way, others won't grief you.

Part 2:The Adventure Starts here!

I'm guessing you are about 500-2000 blocks from spawn right? Well now consider building a base, the best base as I saw in another blog was a base at bedrock, covered with obsidian, and lava on top of the obsidian, I heard that kind of base is x-ray free too, so if you have that much materials, that is the base you want! Since we only got about 64 Log right now, lets start off with a minor underground base. Make sure its deep enough underground, so some player won't see your nameplate. DO NOT DIG DOWN, YOU WILL FALL IN LAVA! The best way to get down deep is to dig two blocks wide, you dig two blocks down on one side, than you jump to that side, and you do that to the other side, you keep doing it until you get to probably the level where you find Gold Ore. Cover up whats above you so No one will just keep falling into your base. Than go get some coal or make charcoal to light up your mini base.

Part 3:Mining Time!

We probably got enough torches by now to go mining? If not make some more charcoal. Right now all we need to do is mine Iron. Working together mining is always faster, and funner, one person mines one way while another mines the other way. When one of you guys finds a cave, teleport to him, or if you cannot, /f claim than /f sethome there. You have to remember this path to your base, so you don't get lost. I will tell you a good thing. When you are mining you can increase your faction power one every four minutes or so. Type /f power to see how much power you have. After you got iron, go back to your base, cook it, and make some tools and armor! Make sure to mine about 58 iron before going back. After you get iron, its time to find diamonds! Usually diamonds appear near bedrock, and lava, but it is hard to find, so good luck, dig with your iron picaxe 5x7 Tunnels, I am sure you will find diamonds that way! Or you can find a rift and at the bottom there is always lots of diamonds. MineShafts also give diamonds, but they are dangerous.

Part 4:Raiding Time!

From the last part to now, you should have almost full Iron Armor and one diamond sword each person, if you see anyone wanting to join a faction, don't invite the right away, cause they might betray you. Let them earn your trust than invite them. If you have 3 people right now, probably one in half leather, half iron armor, and the other two full iron armor, than that is excellent, if you have 2 people than its ok. So raiding is a bit hard, but your prizes you will earn are awesome. The most important raiding items are probably, creeper eggs, TNT, Flint&Steel, and Lava. Creeper Eggs, you spawn it right in front of you next to a chest, it explodes the chest explodes too, you take some damage, but you get all the goodies inside the chest. A good command for raiding is /f map. You can see about a 50x50 radius of faction's claimed land around you, each person goes a different way and when one of the finds the other two teleport to him.

Part 5:Conclusion

So I tought you guys how to raid, mine, and make a good base. If you guys want a super good faction, than invite more than 20 people, so the teamwork is faster, and you can build a big castle walls in about 10 minutes. Betrayal is a big problem in factions though, because you can lose everything because of betrayal, so make sure you invite the people that you trust, and make sure to have a good time Raiding, twenty people raiding against 1 diamond armor, thats cool!
