Ateria is a massive world made exclusively for the upcoming Kings and Glory roleplaying server. It took me over two months to make working at least one entire day a week, and typically putting an hour or two into it every day. I had finally finished the map in October of 2015. The entire map is massive, being several times larger than what I was expecting. This was due to my terrible sense of scale when making maps in World Painter. At this moment, a build team is working hard to build new settlements on the Kings and Glory server to try to re-launch the server with the fantastic new map.
Ateria; a land of vast beauty and danger, ranging from a frozen wasteland to a desert. In the careful balance of peace & tranquility, violence & danger, Ateria is split into four distinct provinces, each of which with its own unique culture and history. Over each province is a ruling house, or a noble family. Throughout Ateria there is the constant struggle for lordship, the royal throne, and even glory. Many want just a peaceful and simple life, but they are often overshadowed by the constant strive for power. And then, there is you.
In the world of Ateria, you will choose your path. Will you choose to live a humble, yet glorious life as a farmer? Or will you strive to bring your family to Householdship? There will be hardships and challenges you will face. Those who you call friends and family will die, some before your own eyes. What becomes of your life is entirely up to you; what becomes of your world is up to the gods. In the end, there is only one question must ask yourself: Will you be glorious or a coward?
Ateria has over 10 unique biomes. This includes 5 different frost biomes, 4 different Tropical Biomes, and several others! Each biome has its own unique trees and flora. No vanilla trees were used in the map, all are from tree repositories. The terrain also has an amount of Hills, Mountains, Sand Dunes, Cliffs, and Lakes.
This map was made for map creation. Because of this there are no Ores, Caves, or randomly generated resources. Tree leaves will not decay, and the only trees that will grow back are vanilla trees. Because of this, it is not recommended that you use this map for survival.
This map was made using Metadata Textures from Conquest Texture pack. While not essential to viewing the map, it is highly recommended. Sadly, in version 1.8+ these Metadata textures no longer work because Mojang's removal of the feature.
You may use this map for any single player worlds that you wish. However, you may not redistribute or upload this world to the internet. You may not use this map for any server without my direct permission to do so.
