Hi,
this is the SS Konstantin Popnikolov, named after one of my direct ancestors, Konstantin Popnikolov, who died heroically at the battle of the Crna bend in 1916.
The ship's history is wonderful. Being the last and largest of the three ships, it wasn't until 1938 that she was completed. By that time her interiors were mostly outdated, but still luxorious. The ship survived WW2 in a large bomb-proof dock, similar to the ones German submarines were stowed in. She went on to have a long cruising career after WW2 in an entirely new livery, being finally retired in 1969, two years before her lead ship, SS Bulgarian Warrior, was removed from service. This version of the ship represents her as she was to apparently sail in the 20s-40s, had she been completed earlier.
Keel laid: 1913
Launched: 1921
In service: 1938
