This is a houmongi kimono (formal visiting kimono) I made for june. The colors match a combination called ayame (=iris) (https://wafuku.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/japanese-colour-names-seasonal-combinations/). Additionally I drew some irises on the kimono and obi. The obi is wrapped in a yanagi (=willow) musubi, so not the common taiko (=drum) musubi but rather a "free falling" tare (end of the obi).

I've lightened the skin a bit so if you wanted to this could pass as a geisha/geiko (not maiko). The hair is done in the shimada hairstyle, the kimono hem is set trailing and she's only wearing tabi (socks) that would be appropriate indoors while entertaining. Geiko have fewer kanzashi in their hair so I tried to keep it low. The kanzashi in june should apparently be willow green, but I noticed that a bit too late. The collar is pulled down at the back to reveal the nape of the neck. The collor for a geiko should actually be white but think of it as date eri, the collar of a lower kimono if it bothers you. I might fix it at some point.

The pink~red line on the sleeve, by the sides, is where the sleeve, sode, of the kimono is open and shows the hiyogi or juban inside. I don't know if it shows as it should in Minecraft, but I did try to make it in the right place.

In case you don't know the difference between geiko and maiko, geiko are the adult professionals and maiko are the students. Maiko feature prominently in pictures of Japan because they have more colorful kimono, their darari obi are huge and they are always wearing white make up in public.
