On Christmas I got a new Windows 8 laptop capable of loading Minecraft 1.7.2 unlike the 10-year-old piece of junk I had used before. I loaded up 1.7.2 and jumped to my favorite server, BlockVille (play.blockville.net) I went to Factions to find some new features including biomes, trees, flowers, blocks, etc. I will now list my pros and cons of this update.

PROS:

• New items (especially the new biomes and blocks)
  
• Ability to add server icons
  
• New render distance bar
  
• Ability to create Nether Portals in different shapes
  
• Achievements announced to other players
  
• Super Secret Settings...
  

CONS:

• Slowing down old PCs
  
• Requiring OpenGL 2.1 (It says it will require it in the future but it's slow otherwise)
  

Over all I really enjoy this update.
