Hello everybody! In this blog I'll give you a guide to shields in Minecraft!


1. Craft the shield. It's pretty easy and not expensive. You'll need 3 wool of any kind, 3 wood of any kind, and one iron ingot.

2. Give it a custom texture.
You can color a shield by putting a colored banner with the shield.
For custom textures you have to put a banner with any texture of the same color of the shield in the crafting table.

By example, a yellow creeper banner with a white shield won't work.
A yellow creeper banner with a yellow shield, will give the creeper banner texture on the shield.

3. Use it!
You can use it to block arrows by example. Just click right mouseclick and the arrows will be blocked!  
This is very usefull in PvP.
The shield takes damage tho, but you don't! 

4. Enchant to unbreaking. It is really usefull if you don't want to stack you inventory full of shields for a night. Unbreaking makes the shield last longer. Sad enough it won't give it the enchantment glow.

You're not using the actuall shield texture in the thumbnail. Just useless confusion.

You can put unbreaking on the shield. The enchantment won't show though :)

Kind of a deception factor in some ways. Enchantments don't show so it would look like you had a non-enchanted shield but you had... THORNS IV
