Level 1 : New Miner

Ch 1

     -Click- Trixie waited as it loaded the LAN. She gathered wood and made a crafting table and a pickaxe. The grass made an almost crunching sound under her feet as she walked towards the cave she passed on her way to the lake.
On the rim of the cave entrance, she started to mine some coal. -Tckch-. Particles flew everywhere, sticking to the sweat on her body.
     It seemed as though the shadows were coming closer to her and she debated on weather to go back to her temporary dirt home. A low moan sealed the deal as she picked up the last bit of coal.
     The sun was almost completely hidden behind a nearby hill and Trixie struggled to get the fire started. When she finally saw a spark, the last bit of light disappeared and the shadows consumed everything but the glow of the fire. Her fish hung just above it, roasting as the fire popped and crackled. She ate in silence, just as she did with everything else.
     Finished with her food, she sliped into her sleeping bag and watched the stars. Until she fell into a deep sleep.
~~~~~~~~
     Trixie could just see the sun peeking over the horizon at the start of a new day. Today was going to be different somehow, she could feel it.
     She went about her business as usual, collecting supplies for her house.
      -Creeeek- She opened her chest and placed her green camouflage leather armor inside, along with her iron sword.
     The sun had just started to set as she sheered her sheep that were fenced in around back. The warm feeling of the light was like no other, but was soon to be gone.
     Trixie begun to get that lonely feeling as the shadows creeped up on her once more. Until, that is, something amazing happened.
     Symon joined the game.
     "Hello?" called out the unfamiliar voice.
Ch 2
     Trixie was quiet, unsure what to say. She debated her options, she could call back and help or stay quiet and hope they go in a different direction. But when the voice called out again, she knew her answer.
     "H-Hello? Who's there?" she said uncertainly. "Are you here to hurt me?"
     "I'm Symon," he called back. "Mind telling me where you are so I'm not killed?"
     Trixie gave the boy her coordinates and pulled her sword out of the chest. It didn't take him long to find her.
     "I'm Trixie," she told him. The fire was growing dull and the sun was long gone. He crouched and smelt a dandelion Trixie had planted by the based of her unfinished house.
     When he stood, he looked at her and froze. "I'm Symon," he repeated himself. They walked a few steps away from the house in silence.
     There was a low moan from the shadows under a nearby tree and the fire went out.
     Trixie began to shake with fear. "Symon?" she called out to him quietly. Her voice was shaking too.
     A rustle came from in front of her. "I'm still here. Follow the sound of my voice," he instructed. Trixie did as he told and bumped into him. She could feel his breath on her forehead. "You okay?" he whispered.
     She nodded, unsure if he could actually see her.
     Suddenly there was light. A torch lit up the smallest little area between the two of them. All Symon did was look at her under the glow of the light. Then there was a hiss. Everything happened so fast, Trixie had trouble remembering it.
Symon dropped the torch and grabbed her arm, pulling her behind him. He turned around and stood in a shielding position. There was an explosion that sent them flying on top of one another. Symon shouted in pain.
     When they hit the ground, it knocked the air out of Trixie. She couldn't breathe for a short time, even though it felt like eternity. The world went black.
~~~~~~~~
     Trixie's eyes opened and she wiped anyway the fogginess that lingered from her sleep. She looked around, shocked. Blocks of her house was missing. Part of her fence too and her sheep were lose. Then everything came back to her in one big wave. Symon. Fire. Hiss. Explosion.
     Symon! She scrambled to her feet and rushed to his side. He was still breathing, thank Block God. Symon had risked his own life to save her. A girl he'd only just met. 'Why?' she thought. 'Why would he do th—'
     A struggled moan came from his shivering body. "Oh! Symon, your okay!" She hugged him. The rushed away to get a blanket.
     She covered him up with the new cotton blanket and leaned him up against an oak tree. He coughed and wheezed. Trixie moved his hair out of his face. "Thank you for saving me," she told him. He could only manage a weak smile before coughing again. "I'll be right back," she promised, rising to her feet.
     Symon watched her go, a small smile on his bruised face. When she returned once again, she had freshly cooked mushroom soup. He drank it happily.
     "When I'm better, I'd be happy to help you rebuild your fence and house," he offered. "If you want."
     She was astonished. "I would love that," she told him. "I would really love that." He smiled and continued eating his soup.
