Hi all,

I am here to present a mod that could bring a new breath of life to minecraft. Its called animal husbandry and I hope you will like it :)

Aim:
To create a animal breeding system that is more helpful than the current vannila breeding system for animals.

How it works
Have you been farming your minecraft animals and thought, why couldn't I make these animals suit my needs? Well now I have found the solution! The mod makes all naturally spawning passive mobs (like cows, sheep ect.) slightly different from all the others in its species. These variations might be that some cows are fatter than the ones beside them (AKA it would make more meat) or some chickens lay 5 more eggs a day than the other ones.

Here is a list of variations (if someone makes this mod they may want to add some of their own ideas)

1. Fatter than mormal (more meat)
2. A different colour than normal (for people who want to have fancy looking animals)
3. More wool/milk/egg production than normal
4. Produces more than one offspring at a time
5. Does more attack damage (for wholves)
6. Has more health (great if your riding a pig that just ran over fire)
7. Faster than normal (for all the pig racing enthusiasts)

Uses
So your thinking how do I use these traits? Well I will explian it with a story.

There was a simple minecraft player who was in a bit of trouble. He wanted to make a huge castle with lots of wool carpets. But his sheep flocks wouldn't make enough wool! So he set out on an adventure shearing sheep to find which one made the most wool. Finally he came across a flock of very fat sheep. He sheared one of them and lots of wool came off it. "Horay" he shouted as he lead the flock of sheep home with some wheat.

Once he got home he started breeding the sheep but still there was a problem, the fat sheep took to long to produce lots of offspring. So the minecrafter went out on ANOTHER adventure seeing which sheep would produce more than one offspring at a time. Finally he found two sheep that produced 3 offspring at a time!

This time when he got home he started to cross breed the fat sheep with the ones that made lots of babies. The result was lots of sheep and lots and lots and lots of wool! Now the Minecraft player finally finished his castle!

So this is only one thing the mod would do. Say you want lots of chicken meat for a feast you and your freinds are having in your LAN server. Just get some fat chickens and breed them so they make fat babies with lots of meat. Or your public server could have a cow breeding contest where farmers had 10 days to breed a cow that could make more milk than his compeditors cows.

This mod would be SMP, SSP and LAN friendly.

Why should I use this mod?
Well as you have seen this mod could help many people in their day-to-day Minecraft lives. It could be a bit of fun with freinds or a way to get yourself out of a sticky situation! Also I think the comunity would really benifit from this, people could upload screenshots of their latest breeding success (or failure) or make tutorials on how to breed a certain type of chicken. This could really help breath new life into not just Minecraft but the whle Minecraft communtiy!
