I think the first archway that you used is sort of hard to look at. It looks more of a triangle than an arch, in my opinion. Try going up every two blocks or so. And don't JUST use stairs. Try to use slabs to. Change up the block choice when using slabs and stairs. Maybe even switch up the texture pack? The walls look drab and flat. Switching up blocks can help, but you need to give more of the illusion that the wall has depth. The missing blocks help, but it's not enough. If you need me to explain certain things, shoot me a PM. I know i'm not the most amazing builder in the world, but I want to help you improve.
