Like many people, I'm always waiting for Mojang to release a new update to add and fix things in Minecraft. But... why wait when we have mods to fill the holes? So many things are always being made for SP and MP, for convenience, fun, and more gameplay mechanics. Face it, the modding community is one of the major things keeping the game alive and fresh... but are they always reliable?

From what I've experienced, Mojang is more reliable for updates, fixing many bugs, and adding a bunch of stuff at a time. Of course, mods center around one thing, usually, and developers will have to wait for Mojang to release an update or snapshot to update, so Mojang really wins there. But, mods add many things that Mojang would probably not add. The mod community, and pretty much the whole community too, are pretty damn dedicated to Minecraft, and I find they keep the game more fresh than Mojang could, because the company is HUGELY outnumbered by us. We can produce much more than them in a smaller time then they could to us. We are the people keeping the game more fresh in my opinion.
