Today im going to be talking about wall segments.A wall segment is a small area of wall that can be repeated as many times as you like to create an aesthetic home.
Now, when making wall segments you need blocks that go well with each other and have the right type of "energy" to them.
We are going to be using:
(Yes i know i miss-spelled aesthetics here ^.^)
For this lets just say you used these materials as well. As, for example, there are other woods othjer than pine and other blocks with the same "energy as bricks and so on.
Now that you have your materials it is time to get started.
First we need to sort out how the blocks will be placed.
We will need 2 stone bricks with a 3 block area between them. We place them like this because they make good corner-pieces.
Then we fill this area with our bricks. We use bricks here because they have good horizontal energy for straight lines.
You should have something like this:
Now we bring in our pine and place a stack of 2 on top of each of the stone bricks. We use pine for this because of the great vertical energy they possess.
We then repeat the process from the bottom of our wall segment and place it on top of the pine.
You should now have something like this:
Now we move on to the, what you would call, "filling" of the wall segment.
We now take our planks and place them on the inside next to the pine. We use planks as they make a good filler for empty space and make good use of both horizontal and vertical energy.
We now fill the 2 empty slots with glass as we dont want the wall to be completely filled. We want to be able to see through it.
You can use glass blocks or glass panes. Its up to you. You could even use iron bars if you wanted to.
Now we get this:
Right, that's it with the basics. Now we can get on to the ways you can actually build with segments.
First we put 2 segments next to each other to make a longer wall.
Does this look right?
No it does not.
This is how we do it. We put them together but since we already have the side of the first one there is no need to make another so we have something like this:
If you want you can even make these wall segments move diagonally.
Start off with the same principle as before.
And build it up.
But glass panes dont work with this design so we need to use normal glass blocks.
So if we put this together we will end up with something like this.
Now, you can stack these on top of each other to make multi-story homes if you want.
Thats not right!
Thats just plain weird!
This is what it should look like.
Only problem is, with the floor aligned with the bricks, you will only get 2 blocks height of space.
And, as anyone will tell you...
No one like 2 block height living space!
Thats why i only ever make single-story homes when building with wall segments.
If you throw all this together you will end up with a nice-looking, modern, aesthetically-appealing. home.
Here is one i threw together:
(Notice one wall segment has to be turned into a door)
Well, that's my first tutorial on PMC.
I hope you liked it. I will be making more "Building tips" tutorials soon.
If you found this tutorial useful then please leave me a comment and maybe a diamond. :)
