[Lots of math incoming. If you don't wanna read all of the math skip down to the TLDR. :) ]

Hot take: crafting buttons in vanilla Minecraft kind of sucks, and honestly, I'm tempted to re-learn how to make Minecraft mods again just so I can make this small tweak.

So currently in vanilla Minecraft, whenever you craft a button from a block, you get... one single button. This doesn't make any sense - I personally feel you should be getting at least 9 buttons per craft; it's not great, but it's certainly an improvement. Then I wondered, "What would be the ideal amount of buttons to take up the surface area of one Minecraft block?" and got to work on the math.

So a standard Minecraft block is 16x16x16p, and a Minecraft button is 6x4x2p, meaning (using LxWxH) we can fit 2⅔ buttons lengthwise into one block, and 4 buttons widthwise. This brings us to 10⅔ buttons per layer of Minecraft block.

Then, because a Minecraft block is 16p tall, and a button is only 2p tall, we multiply this by 8 to result in the total amount of buttons that can fit in the area of one block: 85⅓ buttons - that's a lot of buttons.

However, because Minecraft has an item stack limit of 64 items per inventory slot, it would be reasonable for crafting buttons to give you 64 buttons per block. Worst case scenario, a stack of 16 buttons per block would still be a significant improvement from one button per block.

I also think you should be allowed to make buttons in a stonecutter, and that there should be Deepslate and Tuff button variants.

[TLDR below]

You should get 85⅓ buttons per block mathematically, 64 reasonably, 16 worst case scenario, and you should be able to make buttons in a stonecutter, and there should be Deepslate and Tuff buttons.

Should I re-learn how to make Minecraft mods so I can make a mod that offers these simple tweaks?
