When a website reuploads your content (in this case, they reupload the files, a link to your download doesn’t count), then it can be quite annoying. They can profit off your work, remove credit, and in some cases even put viruses in their download.
This of course isn’t legal. However, you can send them a DMCA notice to get them to take it down. Most sites such as 9minecraft will respond to a DMCA notice within a couple of days.
A DMCA notice is basically an email which you send to the website and it basically says “hey, take down my content”. However, if you don‘t put the right stuff in the email, then it won’t be valid and they won’t be forced to take your content down.
Here are two templates you can use. It’s important to change all the values to what you need them to be.
Many websites will have a Contact form or email address you can send this to. Once you’ve sent it, check back in a couple of days to see if they have taken the content down yet.
If they still haven’t after a week, then you will have to escalate it. See if you can contact their server host to report abuse of their platforms. However, in the case of most websites (such as 9minecraft) it doesn’t get this far.
