Endermen glitch??

Okay guys, so my boyfriend and I were playing in our survival mode server and this endermen wouldn't attack us. I could see the enderman but my boyfriend couldnt. some glitch of some sort! lol So we decided to have some fun with him since i could move the monster around! haha! took pics with him and such, idk why he didn't attack. I looked him straight in the eyes!

enderman don't
attack unless u attack it.....

If you look them in the eyes they attack and the point was that i could see it and he couldn't
