This is a command that will give you an item titled "GPS Tracker". it will add 1 million blocks to your waypoint transmit range (the distance for your marker to show up on the locator bar) and any mob holding it. the command is below, it runs in a command block as it is too big for chat.
/give @p gold_nugget[custom_name={"bold":true,"color":"yellow","text":"GPS Tracker"},attribute_modifiers=[{id:"waypoint_transmit_range",type:"waypoint_transmit_range",amount:1000000,operation:"add_value",slot:"any",display:{type:"hidden"}}],lore=[{"color":"light_purple","italic":true,"text":"CommandMan ;P"}]] 1
