First, the back story :)
Okay, So I noticed two things in my search for a Halo texture pack, the first of which is that there are remarkably few, the second? none appealed to me :
Now I'm not saying the creators aren't skilled or indeed that they are bad texture packs I'm merely saying that they seem pretty inconsistent and didn't fit the feel of either Minecraft, nor Halo.
And so I took it upon myself to create my own (fun times o_0)
this task brought with it a few realisations
1. I would have to get someone trustworthy to advise/assist me who was knowledgeable in both games.
-simple enough, I just so happen to have a good friend that fit the description perfectly.
2. I would be posting it here on PMC for everyone to enjoy
3. You here on PMC are generally talented and creative individuals that could give me valuable feedback during the creation of this.
-YES, that's a very obvious hint that I want you guys/gals to do exactly that :P
4. One texture pack Is not big enough for the sheer number of halo weapons/armours.
-My solution to this was to split it into (a minimum of) three packs:
-UNSCraft
-CovvyCraft
-CryptumCraft*
The packs will be essentially the same, key differences being the HUD, armour, weapons, mobs and certain items (cooked food, beds etc.)
5. Making the transition from Minecraft to Halo, alot of items would change into similar Items and those items would be called different things (for example, flint and steel are becoming lighters, arrows for the UNSCraft pack will be ammunition), perhaps leading to confusion/lack of immersion.
-My proposed change is simply an additional file that replaces a Minecraft language file that changes the names of blocks/items in game for a more solid, believable Halo pack (of course several versions would be needed so that some people do not have to lose their primary language)
6. I may miss key blocks/items that have counterparts in Halo or changes I think work, the community may not.
-My solution was simply to create this blog so as to allow you people to add give your input/ideas to this project
The pack will be 16x
If you find this is taking a little too long for your liking, I have some Halo skins on my profile and will hopefully be generating some more in coming weeks (suggestions will also be appreciated here, throw them in with your comments/private message them to me)
And that's it! I hope to hear from as many of you as possible real soon :D

You mentioned a lack of existing texture packs, yet i can find 7+ good ones on this site alone (plus all the noobish ones).
I would go with CovenantCraft rather than CovvyCraft. You might try CryptiumCraft rather than ForeCraft.
16x16 is standard resolution. you only need an HD patcher if you add custom animations.
it's really one texture pack, with 3 variants regarding weapons and such, i'll manage :D
none appeal to my friend or I, so we're doing our own :)
I'm keen to stick with covvycraft, but i'll put that forward to my friend, see what he thinks :) and I love it, i hould have thought of cryptumcraft before :D
ah I see, this is good news
Well that's basically what i did.. *cough cough*. I just wanted to give you a fair warning about what you are getting yourself into.
its fine that none appeal to you, i just want to point out that they do exist.
and yeah its your choice with the names.
decided to stick with the CryptumCraft, hope you don't mind dude
thanks for all your input dude it's really valuable especially seeing as you yourself have a similar project :)
Go ahead with CryptiumCraft.
and you're welcome.
Just tell me if you need it.
share this blog around if you can, get some creative juices flowing, I really want this to be a work of the community :D
