Well when you find them, EVERYONE gets excited for a few seconds. Then people get bored of them very quickly.

I agree with you I found a diamond but I wasn't the least bit excited. I bet if they made more stuff that needs diamonds I would be more excited.

Great blog! I agree with you... when I first got Minecraft, diamonds were very fun to look for, and when players found them, they would be full of joy and excitement. Also, a lot of people think emeralds are rarer than diamond, but they are actually very easy to find. You have to mine in an extreme hills biome close to the bedrock level, and they will be not too hard to find. I diamonded!

I also know servers where you do /warp resources and there is everything from coal to diamonds and there're only 3 blocks behind you this is so stupid and i was wondering why everyone had diamon tools and armor

We could do with a more precious material, that is of even higher rarity and usefulness. How about titanium? Its not as rare in the real world, but definitley useful.

Making a more useful material would mean changing alot of recipes, but still sounds awesome xD

This is very interesting, and yes, I know what you mean. I'm in the middle of a server-wide war on a small server, and yesterday I was killed in a suicide explosives attack by our enemy. My friend was EXTREMELY nice, and lent me his spare diamond sword, diamond helmet, and diamond armor. I feel sorta ashamed of this, but then I thought; 'What? No enchants?' but I can definitely see where you're coming from here. Good blog. Ironically, I'm going to give it a diamond...

i think that they should
1) make them harder to find
2) make a more valuable substance/material to find.

Making diamonds harder to find will take down the chance of newer players to find diamonds and enjoy from it, the game is not only for veteran players that already got bored from knowing how to find diamonds easily.
If you have other fun things to do in Minecraft you shouldn't worry about diamonds.

that is so true i didnt think of it like that but i still think they should add another material stronger and better.
