HD fonts are great for recording videos with a snazzy lookin' font or just your own pleasure.
Here is a tutorial on how to make the default MC font look snazzy.
1. Go into your Minecraft folder (type %appdata% in your start menu and press enter, then click the .minecraft folder)
2. Next go to your texturepacks folder and click any random texture pack ( preferably the texture pack you use the most).
3. Go into the texture packs font folder and delete the default.png and replace it with the picture above
CAUTION! YOU MUST NAME THE PICTURE ABOVE default.png OR ELSE IT WONT WORK!
4. There you have it HD font! Enjoy!

copy the small a-z from default.png and paste it over the alternate.png.
this will let you read random words in yourenchantment table! :)
