Hello my fellow minecraftians! Today I
will be starting and finishing my very own blog for the Survival Guide contest.

Now, I will not make you all wait for the wait, so I will break this blog into
sections. You can choose whatever ones you desire, and each section will have a
purpose, a guide, and some tips.

Also, here are a few key things that you will need to know ;3

when I do a crafting recipe in this tutorial, I will most likely be using
letters to represent items. Here is what items here represent:

w = wood

s = stone

d = diamonds

g = gold

s = stone

i = sticks

1 = iron

and I will explain extras if needed.

I hope you like this, and I will see you all next time!

Let us begin with a scenario.
If you type in a world seed, and when you spawn in your very own world, you just MIGHT spawn on an island.

If you do, don't delete the world. It is quite fun trying to survive on an island ;3

Maybe if your island doesn't have any other islands around it, or if it has no trees, then I guess you can delete it.

You spawn in the middle of nowhere, and you are on an island. You glance around, and you see a tree,
PUNCH IT! Take all the wood from it. Try to scavange your very own sapling too. They will come in handy ;3
Scavenge everything that drops, and if you got an apple, then congrats! I say that you can do many things next, but I will move on the simple path.

Make a crafting table! Press E (Default controls) and put 1 wood into your crafting in the top. Take the 4 planks, then you may put those 4 in a square formation like this:

l l
l l

and you will get a crafting table. This will come in deep handy, and will be used a load in this tutorial.
Place it, and make sticks. Just put some wood planks in the crafting table (Acess it by right clicking it) and put 2 wood planks like this:

l
l

You will get some sticks, and with this, you can do many things.

I would reccomend you make a wooden spade, and a wooden sword.

Make a spade by putting 2 sticks in a straight line in the crafting table, then put a wooden plank above it. Let w represent wooden planks in this tutorial. And let i represent sticks.

w
i
i

That will make you a spade, and we will use this for quick mining for later.
Take it out of the crafting table, and put the wood and sticks in this formation to make a sword.

w
w
i

Lastly, we will be making a wooden pickaxe.

w w w
    I
    i

Now, you are set for now. You have the option to make a wooden axe too, but I will leave that out for now. Make one like this:

ww
w i
    i

After you do this, go ahead and mine some of the sand that SHOULD be around you.

After this, whip out your pickaxe from your inventory (Press E to acess it if you forgot)

Mine the sand below you, and mine the sand in front of you (You can use your spade for this part)
Here is a quick diagram/picture of what it will look like: Hisssss - Boom (Survival Tutorial Entry)

After you do this a few times, mine a block down, and repeat.
Do this until you find cobblestone, and mine 8 of it.
Hop out of the mine, and put the stone in your crafting table like this (Stone will represent the letter s)

s s s
s    s
s s s

Take out your furnace, and place it.

Then, take your axe out and mine some trees around you.

Take the wood that you get from the trees (Not the planks) and put them in the top section of the furnace.
Put either some sticks or wood planks in the bottom, and wait for the wood to become charcoal.
Replace the wood with the charcoal at the bottom, then put the sand at the top.
When this is done, retrieve the glass, and mine some more trees.
When you have a decent amount of wood, you can make a shelter.
You can either make it with both wood and wood planks, or you can just use wood planks.

Use this picture as a reference: Hisssss - Boom (Survival Tutorial Entry)
Then, you can place your chest down (Made by putting wood planks in your crafting table the same way as you made your furnace)
in your house.
If you don't know how to make a wooden door, here is how:

And then you are done with your house!
Now you might be wondering about HUNGER D:
Well, if your island is big, then peaceful mobs will spawn. If not, then you will have to live on the apples, and rotten flesh from zombies (Check out the next tutorial under this to find out about mobs)

Well, this is the basics. From here, you can upgrade your items (By replacing the wood in your tools with stone, then iron etc)
And much more.
Zombies also drop iron ore (and potatoes) rarely, so if you can't find iron, then your zombies will supply it.

Mobs
Here i will tell you what mobs you should be aware of, and what to do about them. I will leave out all nether mobs, and the wither and enderdragon here.

Hisssss - Boom (Survival Tutorial Entry) Let us start with cows. These animals are harmless, and they supply you with leather and beef. You can cook the beef in a furnace for a higher amount of hunger recovery when eaten. They have 10 hit points, and will run away when hit. They can float in water, and can be found in every biome but your nether, end, deserts (Rarely you can see some) and most of the time in caves. Lether can make armor, and the armor is made like this (let h represent lether)

Boots: h h
           h h
Helmet: h h h
             h    h

h   h
h h h
h h h Chestplate

h h h
h    h
h    h Leggings

Chicken comes next. These babies have very low hit points, at a suprising rate of 4. They fall at a slow rate, so they do not take fall damage. They will try to run away if you do not use a sword or any item with less than 4 hit damage. They are somewhat easy to kill, and will drop feathers, and chicken. The feathers can be used for arrows, but I will not go deep into recipies in this section. The chicken can be made into cooked chicken as well, and it gives the same boost.

Sheep comes after the chicken, and the sheep is kinda important. This sheep has 10 hit points, and will try to escape you. If you kill it, it will drop wool, and some lambchops. The lambchops can be made into cooked versions of itself. and gives the same benefit. The WOOL can be used for a bed, which is key if you wanna survive. Here is how you make one.

And the bunny comes next. These little guys have 10 hit points, and will also try to run away before being killed. They drop a rabbits foot (occasionally) which can be brewed into a potion (jump boost) and I will not explain that here. They also drop raw rabbit, which can be cooked into a better food source.

Let me point out that all of the animals so far have babies, and they only drop expierience.

 Next is the squid. These babies spawn in water, and they have 20 hit points, they drop ink sacs, which are used as a dye. Not very useful if I say it myself XD

 Ocelots. They spawn by water and in most biomes, and have 10 hit points. They will run away if approached, but can be tamed with fish. They will not fight for you, but will follow you and will act as the wolf does.

Next I got villagers. These guys have 20 hit points, and spawn in villages of all kinds. Now, dont kill them. They can trade with you!!!!

They can trade items from apples to iron gear to enchanted tols, and much more. Problem is, most of them want emeralds. You get those from the underground, and they are not really rare, but you gotta be lucky to find them. They also take items like wool, food, and other items like that, but the emeralds are the most common wanted item from them.

 These bats spawn in caves, and have no use in reality. they have 10 hit points, and when killed, they drop exp. Nothing I would hunt for ;3

 Next is the wolf. I have to say these guys are so cute XD
They spawn in many biomes, but usually in the jungle and forest. They are peaceful, but become agressive if hit. They can be tamed with bones (Dropped from skeletons) and they will help you fight mobs. They have 10 hit points ;3
You can tame so many of these mobs, so they can become an army if you tame enough of them.
Lastly, the mooshroom cows. Here is a diagram for them ;3

Now we move to un-peaceful mobs.

Agressive wolves. They are created when a tame wolf gets hit, and will attack you. It hits for a whopping 3 hearts in hard mode, and is fast as you can think.

 Next is the zombie. This guy spawns at night in every biome, and in any dark area at any time. He will only spawn if on normal mode or up (all mobs that spawn at night do)
and when killed, he can drop rotten flesh, iron, potatoes, and carrots. He has 20 hit points, and will attack you when in 20 blocks of him. They can spawn with armor, enchanted or not, and might drop it. The armor has a random durability. He can pick up items too, so if you throw a sword he will take it and will use it. Baby zombies can spawn too, and they are really fast, and can drop exp. He also burns at daylight, so you can use that if you need to.

Skeleton. These guys spawn in caves or any dark area and at night in normal mode or higher. They have 20 hit points, and they harness a bow, They will shoot you with the arrows, but you can dodge them easially. When killed, they can drop the bow, they usually drop bones, and occasionally arrows.  He will burn if the daytime comes.

Next are the creepers. They have 20 hit points, and spawn just as the skeletons do. They will approach you and will explode, but if you are far enough away and you are careful, you can safely kill it. It will drop gunpowder, which is used for tnt. If struct by lightning, it will become charged and will activate a bigger explosion.

Enderman spawn in both the end and in the overworld, so I included it since it spawns in the overworld. They have 40 hit points, and will only attack if looked in the eyes. They teleport and make odd sounds, and they emmit a purple particle. They hate water, so you can use that to your advantage. Unlike the skeleton and zombie, the enderman does not burn at day.
 The guardian spawns by its temple, which spawns in oceans. it looks like
this: They have 20 hit points, and will shoot a beam that will target you. They drop expierience, and shards for the blocks that the temple has. At the center of the temple, an elder guardian will spawn, and has 80 hit points, Upon being killed, he will drop a wet sponge and exp.
