Hello everybody, in this tutorial I'm gonna be showing/telling/demonstrating how I shade, and how to get better colors. I'm not an expert at this, so please bare with me ;; w;
Now lets talk about colors.
I've had so much trouble throughout my skinning months *2 months now c:
-Tutorial-
First off, you wanna start with a hair color base, of course. And yes, I'm using MinecraftSkins.net editor because I use a mac and don't know how to get MCSkin3D.
Now, you want to use the darkest shading you have in your pallette then make lines like this. This is the side, by the way.
Now, take your second darkest color and color it exactly like this.
Now take your third darkest color and line it up like this, please make sure you are following these steps or you're gonna get lost.
Take your fourth darkest color and match it up like this :) We're almost done <3
Take your fifth darkest color and color it like this :)
Add your shining, and you're finished! Back hair coming soon <3

I've think I've finally got the perfect colors for myself. And I'll teach you those <3
Let's start off with all of the colors.
Welp, thats the end! I hope this little tutorial helped you guys a little bit, and I thank you for viewing! <3
Let's start off with all of the colors.
-Colors
This is an example of good colors.
Bright, colorful and fun. These colors pop out a lot.
These are the type of colors you get when moving diagonal from the brightest color, and moving towards different colors. I choose to move to the right side when making these types of colors. Moving to the left makes it bland, and too grey.
This is an example of bad colors.
Bland, dark, not colorful, boring. These colors do not pop out at all.
These are the type of colors you get when moving straight down from the brightest color. You DON'T want these type of colors.
Keep in mind, when you're trying to find the right colors, It's best to move to different types of colors.
Blue is best for moving to purple.
Green is best for moving to cyan and yellow.
Yellow is best moving to orange and red.
Orange is best moving to yellow for shine and red for shading.
Red is best moving to red.
Purple is best moving to blue.
I hope this tutorial helped you guys a little bit, and I'm so sorry I'm very bad at tutorials ;; v;

I love testing out new shadings and such and this is fabulous! The color help is one of my fave parts <3
I've actually noticed that a lot of famoose skinners posted thanks a long time ago down in the deep abyss of this commentary thingy! I really like how you do this, and as a tip to others just experiment a little and you'll find the right shading. I know I tweaked it a little, and added my own double layer and on.
Thanks ~ will be posting the link of the skin I'm creating this with. I hope I get better with this too :)
