1. Be rude. Basically it's obvious, but yes, be rude. Laugh at noobs, troll, and all the other rude-chaps you can think of. Just do it. 'nuff said.

2. Grief. The MOST obvious action and MOST effective to be an op, admin etc. Destroy builds, spawnkill, burn, or do something chaotic-style (Kill EVERYTHING, poison everyone etc.) Just grief. It raises the chances by about 50% when successful.

3. Hacks. Yes, hacks. It usually doesn't go noticed, but when for long, it's especially useful to earn you a position. Even better, pretend someone changed you to creative and someone changes you, then hack-slash your way to the items.

5. Ask. Ask. Ask. It's a good way for op. Ask for a rank every chance you get. It will soon get you a position. By the way, there's no number 4!? Oh wait, there is.
